Women’s Day should be a special pause in any woman’s year, it’s a moment of reflection, recognition, and renewal. It’s a day that should remind all of us of who we are, beyond the titles and tasks we carry every day.

I am a woman. I am a mother. I am a professional. And none of those identities cancel the others out, they build on each other, stretch, and continuously teach me. As a woman, I have learned to navigate through the world with resilience and unwavering strength. I have penetrated spaces that weren’t built for me and left my mark anyway. I wear many hats: nurturer, leader, comforter, strategist, often all in one day.

As a mother, I’ve learned what it means to lead from the heart. To give endlessly, love fiercely, and still find pieces of myself in the chaos of raising and taking care of others.

And as a working woman, I’ve sat at tables where my voice was once dismissed — but I continuously speak anyway, because I am not only speaking for myself…. I speak on behalf of other women. I’ve walked into rooms where I was the only woman — and I’ve stayed. I’ve juggled deadlines, dinnertimes, board meetings, school competitions and important school meetings. Not perfectly, but powerfully I tried.

As women amidst all the responsibilities, we are learning the importance of nurturing ourselves as deeply as we nurture others. Showing up for our own growth and well- being so that we can become the best versions of ourselves is important. We are claiming our rightful space in society, politics, technology and most importantly shaping the economy of our beautiful country by safeguarding critical national assets, empowering women and the youth in new technology in security by adding capacity through delivery of robust programmes to the aviation and security sectors. Women’s Day is not just about celebration. It’s about honouring those who came
before us — whose courage opened doors — and to think of the women rising beside us and after us, our future leaders. We are part of something much greater than ourselves.

In this month, I don’t just celebrate women, I see them. I see you Drone Ops Group ladies. Let us be reminded that we are never just one thing, we are many things.

Happy Women’s Day/Month
